Golf 5 VR has released its latest Playoff Edition update, bringing fresh gameplay modes, enhanced visuals, and even more authentic golf simulation — all completely free for existing players. The update launched on Meta Quest, SteamVR, and Pico 4 on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Take a look at what's new:

In partnership with the International eGolf Federation, we’ve introduced a precision-based ranking system that tracks e-golfers’ performance across official tournaments over time.
New “Flash 3 Holes” mode
A thrilling quick-play format featuring three-hole rounds, available in solo and online play. Perfect for instant action and fast-paced fun.
New online team play modes
Experience the excitement of team golf with “Scramble” and “Fourball” formats. Designed for dynamic, strategic, and collaborative matches—ideal for casual players and fierce competitors alike.

Setting up your VR golf club accessory is now easier than ever. Just select from the preset list and you’re ready to swing—no delays.
New left/right-handed play options
To improve compatibility with VR club accessories, you can now play as left- or right-handed using either controller. A more personalized and comfortable experience for all.
It is now possible to set a default clubhouse.
Once set, the selection screen will be bypassed and the chosen clubhouse will be entered automatically.

Seven real-world golf courses available for purchase
In The Open Zone, you’ll find Royal Liverpool (Hoylake), a historic and challenging venue that has hosted many editions of The Open; Royal Troon, famous for its devilish 8th hole, the “Postage Stamp,” and breathtaking scenery; and Royal Portrush, located on Northern Ireland’s coast, offering a technical layout and stunning views.
Also included are the Old Course at St Andrews Links, the birthplace of golf and legendary for its enduring design; Royal County Down, considered one of the world’s most beautiful courses with views of the Mourne Mountains; Sunningdale, a showcase of pure British elegance; and Valderrama, widely regarded as the finest course in the European Union. In addition, the final three holes of Golf Estates in exclusive Jumeirah, Dubai, are available for select tournaments.
